Professor Andy Dougill
Andy leads the CCCEP 1c Work Package on "Closing the Loop": interpreting user needs and facilitating co-evolution through participatory appraisal that focuses on assessing the value of communication of model evidence and information.
Over the last 20 years he has led a wide range of cross-disciplinary research projects aimed at developing integrated participatory approaches for monitoring environmental change and enabling participatory adaptive management.
In particular, he has worked with partners across southern Africa to improve assessments of environmental change in a range of dryland farming systems.
This work has additional funding secured from NERC / DFID Ecosystem Services and the Poverty Alleviation programme|, and DFID / British Council Developing Partnerships in Higher Education programme.
Dr Claire Quinn
Claire is an ecological social scientist with over 10 years of experience working on interdisciplinary projects in Africa and the UK.
Her research interests lie in the links between ecological and socio-economic processes in the management and conservation of natural resources.
Claire currently works as a lecturer in Natural Resource Management in the Sustainability Research Institute| at the University of Leeds.
Her research focuses on the distribution of property rights in multi-resource systems and the implications for management, and livelihood vulnerability and adaptation to environmental change in agricultural communities.
