This research programme examines different strategies for governing climate change mitigation and adaptation and their human rights and social justice implications.

Information

International negotiations on climate change have made slow progress in the past decade. This is difficult to reconcile with broad scientific agreement on the causes of climate change and its impacts and economic arguments about the benefits of early mitigation.

To shed new light on the prospects of climate change governance, we examine both the system of international negotiations and the wider political and institutional context within which it is embedded, and which it is influencing.

Research projects

The programme consists of four projects.
