Report reveals economic impact of Boxing Day floods in Calderdale

calderdale_floodsBusinesses in Calderdale, Yorkshire, have lost £47 million so far as a result of the Boxing Day floods. The total economic impact to the Calderdale and Kirklees regional economy amounted to a total of approximately £170 million. These are two of the key findings of a study into the impact of the floods on Calderdale’s business economy led by Dr Paola Sakai, a CCCEP Associate based at the University of Leeds.
