Susanne Lorenz

Susanne is a Research Fellow working on the Informing Climate Adaptation Decisions Project led by Prof. Suraje Dessai in the Sustainability Research Institute at the University of Leeds. This project aims to better understand the knowledge systems relevant for climate-related decision-making.

Susanne’s PhD focussed on the tailoring and use of climate projections for more effective decision support in adaptation and was supervised by Suraje Dessai, Piers Forster and Jouni Paavola at the School of Earth and Environment in Leeds.

Before returning to University for her PhD, Susanne worked in the field of climate change adaptation and sustainability in Local Government in England. Her work focused on raising awareness of the impacts from a changing climate and severe weather, assessing the risks across different services and making recommendations for risk-based adaptive management.
