Monica Di Gregorio

Monica is an environmental social scientist and a lecturer in Environmental Policy & Governance at the Sustainability Research Institute (SRI) at the University of Leeds.
Her current research examines contentious environmental politics and development and is centered on environmental movements and policy networks. She also works on climate change policy in developing countries with a focus on national level REDD (reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation) policy strategies.
Background
Monica has worked on natural resources governance and much of her work relates to forest resources.
Prior to joining SRI in 2011, Monica was a fellow in the Department of International Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her work at LSE focused on activism around forest tenure issues in Indonesia.
Before joining LSE, she worked for the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) on institutions and natural resource management, with a particular focus on property rights and collective action issues.
She has a background in International Development (LSE) and Development Economics (MSc, SOAS) and a regional interest in Southeast Asia.
