Margo Hanson

Administrator

As Administrator for the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP), Margo works closely with CCCEP's Director at Leeds, Andy Gouldson, and the Deputy Director at Leeds, Jouni Paavola. She also works with CCCEP colleagues at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), to ensure the strategic development of the Centre and the effective management of its resources.

Background

Margo has always had an active interest in the environment, but became increasingly interested in the twin challenges of climate change and peak oil, participating in and later coordinating a number of events with Stop Climate Chaos Leeds.

Margo has a first-class degree in Geography. She taught English in Japan before taking up a career in social housing, working for a rural local authority in the south-west, then an inner-city housing association in Leeds.

Margo worked at the University of Leeds from 1997 to 2000, as Projects Officer for the City and Regional Office, before leaving to to take up the post of International Officer at the University of York. She later returned to the University of Leeds as Administrator for Leeds Dental Institute, before becoming Administrator for CCCEP.
