Natalie Suckall
Research Fellow
Natalie is a Research Fellow (post-doctoral) at CCCEP. She is currently involved in research that examines the linkages between adaptation, mitigation and pro-poor development in coastal east Africa. An objective of the research is to understand how policy and community interact to produce 'triple-wins' (synergies between adaptation, mitigation and development) and how these 'triple wins' may be included in national adaptation and mitigation policies.
Natalie is also in the final stages of a PhD that examines the impact of climate change on migration in Malawi, southern Africa. Natalie's research is interdisciplinary and she employs both quantitative and qualitative methods, including ethnography, to understand how communities respond to change.
Background
As a Research Assistant within the School of Earth and Environment, University of Leeds, Natalie worked on the Rural Economy and Land Use project, which aims to advance rural policy and practice with choices on how to manage the countryside and rural economies.
Natalie has an MA in sustainable development from the University of Leeds.
