Dr Tim Foxon

Tim is an Academic Research Fellow at the School of Earth and Environment| at the University of Leeds. His research explores technological and social factors relating to innovation and the uptake of new energy technologies, and the analysis of the co-evolution of technologies, institutions and business strategies for a transition to a low-carbon economy.
Background
From October 2005 to August 2007, Tim was a Research Associate in the Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research (4CMR) in the Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge. He worked as part of the UK Energy Research Centre's Energy Systems and Modelling Theme.
Tim was previously a Research Lecturer at Imperial College London, where he coordinated research on policy drivers and barriers for sustainable innovation, under the ESRC Sustainable Technologies Programme, leading to a number of journal papers and a report for policy makers, launched at the DTI in April 2005. He was also lead or co-author of three reports for the DTI on UK renewables innovation systems, as well as a report for the Carbon Trust on 'Inducing innovation for a low-carbon future', which has been widely cited.
