Beatrice Mosello
Research student (visiting)
Beatrice Mosello is a PhD Candidate in Political Science and International Relations at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. She is a Visiting Research Student at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment/Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP) until September 2011, within the framework of a Fellowship for Prospective Researchers, awarded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
The title of Beatrice's PhD is 'Dealing with climate change: institutional adaptive capacity as a means to promote sustainable water governance in Italy and the Kyrgyz Republic'. Her research aims to investigate the factors that influence the institutional capacity of water governance systems to adapt to climate change. Beatrice's work specifically refers to the European context.
Background
Beatrice holds an MSc in International Studies with a specialisation in Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, and a Bachelor degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Pavia, Italy.
Before joining CCCEP, Beatrice participated as a Fellow Researcher in the European Union-funded ACQWA project, which focused on analysing the socio-economic drivers of climate change.
From September to December 2011, she also held a Research Fellowship at the Social Research Center of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Beatrice has an extensive experience of environmental issues, which she obtained, among other things, by leading numerous youth initiatives on the human dimension of climate change, sustainable development and issues related to intergenerational equity.
