George MacKerron

Research student

George's PhD, funded by the ESRC, regards links between local environmental quality and subjective wellbeing (happiness). George is responsible for Mappiness|, an experience sampling study mapping happiness across the UK. He is based at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Background 

George has an MSc in Environmental Economics & Policy from Imperial College London and a BA in Biological Anthropology from Cambridge University. 

Research interests

  • Climate change;
  • Carbon offsetting and innovation;
  • GIS and spatial econometrics;
  • Surveying techniques for the web and mobile devices.
