Maria Carvalho

Research student

Maria's current PhD topic delineates how different types of financial investments affect the technological trajectories of the renewable energy industry. She will be analysing this subject within the context of the ongoing financial crisis and national governments' 'green' economic stimulus packages.

Background

Maria obtained her Bachelor of Arts & Science Honours (BAH) in Economics and Development Studies at Queen's University, Canada. She then received her Master's of Science (MSc) in Environmental Policy and Regulation at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Following graduation, Maria worked for New Energy Finance (now known as Bloomberg New Energy Finance) for two years as a carbon analyst and client relations manager.
