Chloe Sutcliffe

Research student

Chloe's project title is 'Cultivar adoption as a strategy for adapting to climate change: maize variety selection and cultivation amongst small-scale farmers in Malawi'.

She has been based at the University of Leeds since October 2009.

Background

Chloe has a BSocSc in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester, and an MSc Anthropology and Ecology of Development from UCL.

Research interests

  • Political ecology of agriculture in developing countries
  • Food security, nutrition and agricultural sustainability;
  • International development and poverty alleviation;
  • Social and environmental change;
  • Climate change;
  • The role of meteorological perceptions in determining small-scale adaptation and mitigation decisions.
