Simon Dietz given European Award for Researchers in Environmental Economics under the Age of 40

The European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) has inaugurated a new European Award for Researchers in Environmental Economics under the Age of Forty. The first recipitient of the award is Simon Dietz, Professor of Environmental Policy at the Grantham Research Institute, LSE and CCCEP Co-Director. The Award is a recognition given every year to the environmental economist under the age of forty who is judged to have made the most significant contribution to environmental economic thought and knowledge.

Simon received the award for his contribution to a broad range of innovative research topics in environmental economics and for papers in climate economics with a focus on risk, discounting, and equity. Simon’s work was described as being “of great practical relevance, especially in the field of climate policy”.
