Trust, happiness, and pro-social behavior

Cooperative behavior is essential for societies to thrive and for humanity to address local and global social dilemmas. This paper combines several large-scale surveys with different strategies for identifying trust, to shed new light on the determinants of cooperative behavior, including that needed to advance progress on climate change mitigation.


Social interactions and the adoption of solar PV: evidence from cultural borders

This paper investigates the role of ‘social spillovers’ in the adoption of new technologies. The authors find that the French-German language border in Switzerland acts as a barrier to social interactions and, eventually, to the adoption of new technologies – in this case solar PV. read more »
