Low-carbon industrial strategies in challenging contexts

This project seeks to maximise the impact of our earlier research on national low-carbon industrial strategies. It includes new analysis on sub-national industrial strategies to draw more robust lessons for multi-level policy development, design and delivery. The work focuses on Greater Manchester and the Leeds City Region that are currently developing their local industrial strategies. The work will identify and assess strategies through which they could ease the transitions imposed on them by Brexit, whilst realising a low-carbon transformation of their economies. The research activities are conducted in collaboration with stakeholders such as the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and the IPPR North to ensure impact.

The co-leaders of this research project are Julia Steinberger and Peter Taylor
